The body of Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, the late Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has arrived at the military wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos.

Lieutenant General Lagbaja passed away on Tuesday, November 5, after battling an illness in Lagos.

President Tinubu appointed him COAS on June 19, 2023.

Prior to his death, President Bola Tinubu appointed Olufemi Oluyede as the new acting COAS .

The service of songs for the late CAOS will be held between 5 pm and 7 pm on Thursday at the army headquarters, garrison parade ground, Mogadishu cantonment, Abuja, while the funeral service will be held between 10 am and 12:45 pm on Friday at the National Christian Centre in the central business district (CBD), Abuja.

The final interment will follow at the National Military Cemetery between 2 pm and 6 pm on Friday

Tinubu’s Certificate Drama: Atiku To Address World Press Conference Today, Says Dele Momodu

The Chicago State University (CSU) on Monday released at least 32 documents relating to the academic records of President Tinubu and other students of the institution to Nigeria’s former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar’s lawyers as ordered by a United States court. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar will address a world press conference today (Thursday). Tinubu determined to eliminate bandits, terrorists, says NSA

 The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, has warned that obstructing security under President Bola Tinubu’s administration will not be tolerated, the News Agency of Nigeria reports. He said this at the Comptroller General of Customs Conference in Abuja, on Wednesday, emphasising the President’s determination to eliminate bandits, terrorists, and other security threats. According to Ribadu, the government’s high-level strategies had led to the killing of hundreds of bandits daily, forcing many to flee to Chad. “This prompted the Chadian president to declare war on them. “We will secure this country, we will fix it, we are not jokers,” he said.
